i've never been a great fan of Queen or Brian May, but i adore that tone he has in the solo. is there any way i can re-create this tone without buying the Brian May signature pedal?

his tone is very hard to get, as he played through a cheap amp built from a radio. he does use the treble booster to push his little amp into some Vox cabs to get that signature tone.

...on top of that, his "red special" guitar also gave him alot of his tone, as it was a simi hollowbody guitar with funny pickups that I forgot what they were...

...in other words, its really hard. I havnt been able to get close to his actual tone, cuz I like mine fine.

try using a nice overdriven amp with your trebles and mids high, and your neck pup. play around.
