IMO all recording software is exactly the same. All recording software relies on the A/D conversion ability of the soundcard you are using. Naturally the better sound card you have the better the results.


Cheap (but still sweet) soundcards would be Audigy series. I suggest one that has not only the PCI card, but also the front panel (think in place of a hard drive) connection.

The differences in the recording software is basically personal preference. Layout, look and feel etc.

bottom line, its not the software its the soundcard.

There are alot of free software that are very nice Audacity seems to be the proggie of choice.

My advice, get the best soundcard you can afford. Get audacity, make you mark.
