You're going to have to experiment. Probably with a distorted sound with not too much gain. Pushing the mids up should help too. Start off by setting everything in the middle, and then adjust each setting in turn. As I say, keep the gain down, it's common to find people with the gain set full, and constant feedback...

I think we have taked before about how the most important thing for sounding like Carlos Santana is to be Carlos Santana. If he came over your house and played your guitar, he would sound like him. If you played his PRS through a Dumble / Boogie amp, you wouldn't sound like him.

Concentrate on learning the music if that's what you want to do - once you can play well it'll sound cool whether you play it clean or with the rectifier model....

Sure it has EQ. EQ is just the knobs on it that say bass, middle and treble.
You go outside and practice screaming. We'll play music while you're gone.

Oh, sorry, my bad. I forgot you were talking about the Micro Cube. A substitute for EQ on the micro cube is to move around the tone knob. Obviously this isn't as good, but you gotta use what you have.

Any strat....

It's more whether you favour single coil or humucker equipped guitars...

About $5,000 :D

PRS ( stands for Paul Reed Smith) is just another brand of guitars, they are well known and pretty expensive. They have cheaper models, though, as low as $500 I believe.

The wood used, the eletronics, what country it was made, the type of body style (cared tops are more expensive than flat tops,) and then sometimes your just payinf for a brand name.

I believe my good friend Creta was actually reffering to carved tops.

Like this:

This one is a "Flamed" maple top. You can get others like "quilted" and such as well.

No that's just the "carved" top. It's like 1/2 inch thick. It also has a maple back but it don't look like that. You see the white binding around the sides? That is how thick the carved pieces are. The thick piece of wood in the middle is mahogany.

Depends on if it is real wood or a laminate. Real maple like on Betsy will brighten up the tone. A laminate top won't change the tone too much. Just makes it look pretty.

typo - he meant 'carved'... rather than the flat faces of, say, ibanez for the most part...

Her fretboard is Ebony. The fretboard wood makes a difference in tone as well.
