hello to all,
I am using a 65 watt "music man 65" amp head.1st edition ('74 old). I am going to put 2 speakers in a 2x12 cabinet. ( 2 ) 8 ohm 12's in paralell. Is it OK to mix the speakers?
I want to combine a Celestion Vintage 30 (1.75" voice coil, 50 oz ceramic magnet, 60 watt/ 100 db) with a Celestion Classic Lead speaker (1.75" voice coil, 50 oz ceramic magnet, 80w/99db).
I play big "wall of sound" chords, light jazz chords, and slow soupy swamp moods. I get to play lead like 3 notes long sustain over top everybody ("Born to be Wild" hahaha-oops that's about 5 notes!!). Mostly sit in the backround moving chords around.
My guess is someone took too much finger speed and gave me...
Is this a viable set-up or just too much thinnin goin on?
Thanks to all.

I think so. my physics is a bit rusty, but two 8 ohm speakers in paralell would give you a combined impedance of 4 ohms.
On the back of the amp it should tell you what the correct impedance should be ?
if you always take the lazy route
