i dont see anyone mentioning ole alex in here! i know i aint the only one who digs what he does. i admit i'm more partial to what he did in the 70's and early 80's, but he still ranks as one of my favorites. his choice of chords and overall approach to rythym is the biggest influence on my songwriting as of yet! he definitely knows more than 2 or 3 chords. as far as solos, anyone out there dig la villa strangiato, yyz, xanadu, etc?

I admit I only know 3 or 4 Rush songs but I get what your sayin. As for La Villa Strangiato, it is the best instrumental ever.

Good to see another Alex fan here! I'm sure there's more. La Villa Strangiato and YYZ are a couple of my favorite instrumentals.
From what I hear, they are recording new stuff right now.
