a fine musician in Freddy Fender. I don't know how many of you youngsters have heard of this guy but as a kid I heard his music nearly everyday. http://music.yahoo.com/read/news/36477665 If you guys have never listened to his stuff. I suggest checking it out.

A morbid aspect of being my age is that it seems like every week, I get news of the death of another musician that made the background music to my youth. :(

I wasn't aware of his passing until I saw this post. That truly saddens me. Like so many, his music was a part of the rich musical tableau of my youth. Dag, that sucks. :(
