Floyd rose problem
Whats up, For about two years I have owned a 2004 Ste Vai Ibanez Jem. Just recently I purchesed the dimebag Dean from Hell. The Jem has a Floyed Rose lo-pro tremelo and the Dean has a standard Floyd Rose. However, I had the same problem with both. Every time I change the strings the bridge raises and is harder to get in tune. I change them one by one without taking all strings of at one time. I heard this is the way your suppose to do it, so you don't loosen up the bridge. Any advise please!!!

Are you keeping to the same brand/gauge of string? That is usually the culprit in these situations.

When you remove a string, the bridge should go toward the body of the guitar rather than into the air because the tension of the springs is greater than the string tension.
Magic has given the only logical cause - string gauge... for 9's you'd use 3 springs in the back, for 10's you'd need 4.
