theres a couple things that could make it hiss.

a bad cord, crappy amp. etc.

speaking of amp, whats do you use?

most amps without a noisegate have this problem, you just kinda learn to live with it I guess. sooo, if it really bothers you, you can use a noisegate! woo!

I dont really know any good brands for one, mines built into my amp and another in my effects processor.
