Hi my name is Tim.
I have 5 lovely kids 3 boys 2 girls, and a lovely wife
We live in Ohio.
I have been trying to play guitar for about 6 months now.
I have an Fender dg22 acoustic with fishman electric pickups, an ibanez electric (not sure what the model is) and an electric bass not sure who makes it, it has a W on the headstock, the only one I play is the fender.
I'm looking for a good place to ask noob questions and get good answers.
I seen the video lessons here and thought it would be a great way to learn.
I can play a few children songs, I can read music at a snails pace, I am learning theory, I know A, Am, E, Em, G, D, C chords (I know F chord but cant land it for the life of me) I am working on chord changes right now, its coming slowly, but its coming. Just thought I would say hi and I hope to get to know some of you.

What they said.
You go outside and practice screaming. We'll play music while you're gone.

Hello Tim. I am new here also, but have been playing 16 years this month. I am from NC, and if there is anything I can do, or any questions you have just ask. Keep Playing, no matter what!!

Welcome Tim. Stick with it, it will come when you least expect it. Damn that F chord its a pain. I would try to find someone to jam with, your progress will increase faster than what you think. Start a band dude!

Hi Tim,
I haven't been here all that long myself, but I'm impressed with the input from people of all degrees of guitar playing. I think everyone understands the F chord vexation. I've been trying to play guitar for 30 plus years now, and I still have questions. I hear people talk about theory, but I don't know anything about it. I just play what I feel. Good luck. Start teaching those kids to play. In my opinion, a family that plays together- stays together.

Welcome. You're at the right place! Everyone in here shares the same passion and desire to play. And if they can't answer a question then there is no answer to the question! :)

Like you, I am somewhat new to the guitar and I have found GT an amazing resource. Willing to bet you will too! As far as the F, well, I've got this nice sized dent in my forehead from smacking my palm againt my head every single time I've missed it!

It's tough but it comes in time. Trust us on that. Take care and play, play, play.

Been working on the F chord its getting better, all but last F note on the sirst string ring, as far as the kids go my 14 year old was learning on the ibanez until he broke his hand skateboarding. My 11 year old daughter started the flute this year,
The other kids are either to young to teach or not interested.
I have joined about 3 Guitar forums; I like this one and GN the best.
I joined jam session but all they want to do is flame everything under the sun. That’s not for me.
I really felt more welcome here at GT than GN. But GN is still a good resource.
Again thank you all for making me feel welcome in your community

Welcome dude. It's great to hear people talk about their kids like that. Don't worry either...that F chord will being nothing in a couple months. :)
