It was a tough decision to make between CW14 and alucard0941; both are great takes.

I finally voted for CW14. Nice phrasing and harmonies.

Alucard0941: You have good shredding skills but some notes sounded a little off. Awesome take nonetheless.
Someday I`ll play like in my dreams.

Incredibly tough choice this month, they were all really cool. I'm not just saying that; this was a track that really brought out the best in everybody's styles.

I wanted to give several votes this month :(, to...

CW14: Cool sound, nice harmonics, and above all, brilliant phrasing as always. Dave G would be proud :).

Bar Chord Nick: For originality! A really great take on the track. Loved the little jig motif a lot!

Alucard: For sheer shredding power! I don't normally like shred, but that was just too cool. Also, for great vibrato.

Equator: A real surprise! Some of the best melodic ideas of the month.

Fenderalltheway: For being a fellow McLaughlin devotee :p. Just kidding, nice track, as well.

However, there can only be one winner, and I have to say, the track that jumped out at me the most was Nick's, so I'll vote for him.

I had to vote for Akira. It was an extremely hard choice! There were a lot of licks in everybody's takes that really caught my attention, but Akira's was the closest to what I heard in my head for the song. Eventhough his was done prior to the Solo Assignment, he was actually at a bit more of a dissadvantage, for two reasons. One, the track that he played lead over was done at half a step down, and his guitar was in standard, and two, I told him he had an hour to put lead to it. I wasn't serious, but believe it or not, about two hours later  , this is what he sent me.

Again, I enjoyed everybodies interpritation, and had a really hard time decided on whether or not I could even bring myself to vote. Keep up the great work guys!!!!

I voted for silentmusic. Great takes by everyone really but Akira and Silentmusic where the 2 I liked best. I think it was Silentmusic's tone that gave him the edge on this one for me.

Hope to see you all in the October Challenge.

Much obliged...I was thinking Billy G...close, but that's my hero, Gibbons. :)

Yeah, there really were some good takes on everyone's part, but Akira nudged the vote outta me, with his wah-ed sustain, controlled feedback, and melodic shredding.

Its taken me a night to decide what one to vote for and im going to have to vote for Akira simply because of his note choice and his use of the wah which was pretty good But it was so so close as Cw's was great too  anyway cool takes by everyone and look forward to oct jam as its a cracker of a BT!! thanks to Eric who shouldnt be forgotton as he has got some fantastic BT's and thanks to Magic also for keeping the monthly Jam going great work my friend :D

Hmmm,

After looking at what most seemed to be using I chose soundclick. But I do seem to recall you are a MAC user and that you have some problems with soundclick. How about a link to myspace?

HEHE, good one. Glad you have a sence of humor. What exactly happens? Cause, although not a MAC user, I do work with computers and I don't think a crash is normal behavior. Is it only direct links to the soundclick player? Cause my link is not a direct link to the player unless I'm missing something. Regardless, I'm trying to get a link to something else. Other than myspace, any suggestions?
