I totally dropped the ball on next months GT Solo Assignment. I didn't realise it was already the end of the month. I myself haven't been even touching my guitar as of late. I think I need to rewire my whole house or at least find a way to get my line grounded. My house was built a long time ago when all they had was two pronged outlets without the grounding pin. As a result Betsy has been electrocuting me every time I try to play. So I can't record. :( I have no backing track on file for next month's jam. :o I would be eternally grateful if someone could bail me out here. I won't consider using a BT that isn't originol. I think that it's a bit of a cheap way out. I've been working on other GT stuff. Well the myspace page so I guess that's how it slipped my mind. I sent out an invite to all of GT's myspace friends inviting them to join and that's when I realised that nothing had been lined up for next month. I'm such an idiot. The last few month's people have voulenteered tracks so it wasn't a problem. I guess I just got a little lax this month. So can anybody help us all out?

No problem Jon, happy to do it. :) I plan on having us 10,000 friends by years end. That's the goal anyway.

As I said though I'm really in a fix with next months backing for the GT assignment. If anyone can even throw together an easy 2 min 3-4 chord progression I, we would all appreciate it. Thanks guys.

No worries, Marcos, I'd kinda forgotten about it myself! Also, thanks so much for setting up the GT Myspace page.

I know I can't record properly, but I did have an idea for a backing track - it's based around an idea from the Doors' "Spanish Caravan". You just get a nylon-stringed acoustic, an Emaj and an Fmaj chord, a couple of notes picked out from each, a 4/4 beat, and arrange them into a simple BT. Just a silly idea for anyone who's making a backing track for this month.

If at first you don't succeed, you are obviously not Chuck Norris.

Yeah, the Myspace page has been fun. I think the solo assignment will be a great draw for guiytarists on there to come and join in our fun over here. I looked through every track I have and there isn't anything that would really qualify as a good enough BT. I hope someone out there helps me out. :)

I've got a track I did a while back that I might redo, if it's needed. I also wouldn't mind adding bass to someone elses track if they need it.

Thanks guys. We only have a couple of days. I really don't mind if we don't start exactly on the first just so long as we get something up before too long. I'm sorry I didn't snap **** earlier.

Hi guys.
I had a backing track I made a couple weeks ago, nothing impressive just drums and keyboard, and when I saw this thread in the morning; I decided to add bass and rhythm guitar to it.
Let me know if this is gonna work.

I should have one done by sometime tomorrow. It can be used for this month's, or some other time. If anybody wants to get a feel for what it is, go to >my music myspace page< and listen to "track 2". Not sure if that version was in standard or half a step down. Either way, this one will be in standard (drop D), but that shouldn't effect your lead playing.
