Good question... Bonnie Raitt and Jennifer Batten would be close contenders for me.

If at first you don't succeed, you are obviously not Chuck Norris.

Kaki King is an amazing player, but being a huge fan of Sonic Youth-ian technique, I have to put Kim Gordon right up there too.

my vote goes to kaki King. she gets the prize for getting me into percussive stuff.

Have you guys heard of Susan Tedeschi, I hope spelled the last right, I nkow its close enough. She plays blues and is married to Derreck Trucks. She can smoke too. Not a shred master but is really good.

My new favorite is Nancy Wilson from Heart.....
Not the most technical, but she's the only chick I've ever seen that just looks comfortable on stage playing a guitar....Her stage antics remind me of Jimmy Page.

Yeah! And don't you think she looks a bit like Robert Plant, as well?

Jennifer Batten. she's a guitar teacher at the Musician's Institute. One of Paul Gilbert's teachers. Bonnie Raitt rocks too. Two different players, both are top notch.
Big Hombre

Another cool female player is Emily J. Burton from Fireball Ministry. Think Tony Iommi with better vibrato!

My sister just started playing - our teacher reckons she has a really good ear for rhythm. Female Hetfield, anyone?
