Amp Problem. I need help please
Okay.. my amp is making some extreme crackling/static noises as of late. My amp and guitar are only a few months old. This problem seems to be getting worse as each day goes by. The static noise occurs mostly when been turned up loud and holding a note. Ive tried putting the amp into several different place in my house and the same thing happens. So, today i brought a friends amp over to test it out and the same thing happens. Ive tried 3 guitars on both amps and they all crackle and pop on my VOX ac15 and only 2 did it on the other amp. Also, my amp right now when i turned the volume down it made the noise by itself might have been the worse that i have heard so far. Please give me some advice. Thanks

Have you tried to switch out guitar cables? If that is not the problem take your amp to another house and try plugging it in. It could be faulty wiring in the house???

"Guitar cable"!
You will get that kind of crackling if the cable from the guitar to the amp is damaged or deffective.

Nope.. not the cable ive tried 3 different ones and the same result with all of them.. maybe the power cable? i dont know i havent had the chance to see if it was just my house due to me being really busy lately, but i found out that my house is grounded. So i don't know what the deal is yet.. 2 of the cables are brand new aswell.

OK, now it comes down to something inside the amp. If you aren't familiar with electronics (and the fact you're asking these questions suggests that you are not), this is probably a good time to get a tech involved. It may be as simple as the input jack not connecting well, or it may be as dangerous as a bad solder joint on a high-voltage wire.

Yeah, im not really familiar with electronics. I guess i should take it back to guitar center eventhough they will charge me when i just purchased the amp 3 months ago. I have a warranty on the amp.. wish there was a Vox Service center near by. Maybe its worth the drive idk. Thanks for the replies
