[FONT=Book Antiqua]What type of scales & modes did toy caldwell use? How did he get his unique sound? i know of "chickin pickin" and thats about it. also what type of scales are used in southern rock. also the techniques they used to get the sound. Thanks[/FONT]

From my understanding "southern rock" is a form of the blues so really it revoles alot around your pents.

They also tended to switch from Major/Minor Pents.

Bridge your "BB King Box" with your standard Pent and this should help with some of the Chickin pickin licks.
