When me and my friend built our studio... we bought a lot of 100 or so picks off ebay... just various brands and thicknesses... and we kept about 20 of them in a box close to the door... the rest of them... we threw all over the place. We both lose picks like it's our job. So we figured we can't lose a pick if there all over the place.

Jim Dunlop is really good at making clear picks... I use a lot of Dunlop Stubbys... and the specific thickness that I use is literally clear... no coloration.... just clear. To combat this I took a permanent marker and colored the label on a few of them... It just ended up turning my fingers blue... and I lost all of them eventually anyway.

Now that I'm away from the studio I have one pick... that's right... one. I figured that if I only had one pick I would be more cautious about it and be less likely to lose it. I've had it for about 2 months... It's getting pretty worn.
