I just practice in a shed behind my drummers house until the cops make us turn it down. But if your renting a place i guess you have a problem with landlords. And laws are probably different there then they are in Texas. if you live in an apartment just sit out on a porch or on a balcony with acoustics and watch the people come and listen.
