well, Alot of it depends on your pick attack. On some guitars the tone difference won't be as noticable. For me, I'm really not comfortable with strings less than .11 gauge because I have a heavier picking style than most people. Really, just try everthing, .8-.13. and beyond!!! :cool:.....
