Ok, this is gonna be corny to the younger folks here. :D

I did an instrumental version of the Lesley Gore tune "You Don't Own Me".

Quincy Jones did the original studio production and IMO, his work was on par with any of Phil Spectre's masterpieces like "Be my Baby" by the Ronettes.

The middle solo section is my version of the cool string section solo that the original had.

I was trying to go for a pedal steel type feel in my playing.
You don't Own me - mix #2

The tone chain is my Hoffman AB763 2x10 combo amp into the Palmer PGA-04 speaker simulator into the sound card line in. The middle solo section is Guitar Rig.

i love it !!! the tone on "pedal steel" bits is excellent!!! though i did not care for the metal bit....that tone was not as good as the rest, no warmth=== could just be your settings(guitar rig).....am i getting old???

Thanks for the listen.

Yeah, the two types of tones don't really mix but I kind of like it the more I listen to it.

Nick,
Hard to go wrong with a real/warm tube amp tone. :)

I do a bunch of Guitar Rig amp simulation stuff, but for the clean surf/instrumental type stuff I do, a real tube amp with spring reverb sounds way better than the guitar Rig stuff.

Also, I must say that the Palmer PGA-04 speaker simulator is an awesome product for recording live amp tones without a mic and all the pitfalls that goes with live mic recording.
