strats or teles

it's a matter of preference. i personally like the feel of the tele better and i've been really happy with mine. that's just me however. some like the strat better.
my reccomendation is: go to a guitar store play both, and see what feels right, which sound you like most. don't limit yourself either. try other brands as well. gibson for example makes excellent guitars, however if you don't want to spend that much money, try epiphone or ibanez. experiment, play around see what you like.

To improve technique and of course trying to keep all as clean as possible. I know my own limits and speed limits and so on I never play anything I'm not capable of. That wouldn't make any sense. After three years of playing I tried to play everything as fast as possible and that sounded, I would say, like shit, and I didn't realize that if I'd play bit slower things than I was capable of playing then everything would sound much better.

Wow, it'a amazing that a company that puts out one great guitar should put as much work into making another and have it totally suck. Have you ever thought that it's not the guitar that sucks?

I agree with the first reply!
Try them both out .Then u decide which one feals the best.
Now if your going to get into metal or alot of Rock,
I would recemend the strat.
I also own a hot-rod tele plus a strat.
Thier both alittle souped up.
Anyway i recemend the strat for the extra frets it has.
The tele don't have as many frets for playing up the neck.

altough i myself prefer the strat, a telecaster may have some abilities the strat doesnt have. it's a whole different world, however if you like to use a tremolo bar, you must remember that a telecaster comes with a hard-tail bridge

I don't know how you can play either.
They sound great but man, those volume control knobs can break your knuckes when you strum or play power chords.

I own a strat and a tele. They're both awesome guitars, play well, and both have unique tones. Even Larry LaLonde who spends most of his time on a PRS these days and used a 70's strat with a floyd rose vibrato back in his Possessed/ early Primus years likes Teles.
My suggestion is get what you like best now, and then add to your collection later.

Alternatively, just choose the best looking guitar in the store. I have decided to launch a campaign that encourages superficiality. Much as I think the sound of a strat suits me better, it is probably because I think they look cooler that I think that. Of course, what looks best is subjective, but a strat is just right for me.

It is also amazing that someone with no brain is able to type almost coherent sentences. You even went to the trouble of writing "you" rather than "u", truly inspired. From now on can there be conditions for gaining membership to this site? Something along the lines of "do you actually have a brain, and something others might consider even remotely worthwhile to contribute to a discussion?"

Don't worry, he's been told. Hopefully it's cause he's new around here.
If ya see stuff like that in the future just ignore it. If I, or any other moderator catches it in time we can just erase it.

fender suck. get an ibanez. but back to the question, get a strat because a tele is more for less intense crap like blues and country and worse for actually playing music. of course, its not like a strat is all that much better (im severely anti-fender), so just pick what one is cheaper.

...whose favourite guitar is a Telecaster?
Most of the electric guitar tracks on Led Zeppelin's albums were not recorded with his Les Paul!

First off, i dont think that any off those people mentioned are that great of musicians. Secondly, micheal jackson sucks. he has no talent for music whatsoever. anyways, i consider low-core rock as bad as blues or country.
