I'm "tech guy" but I do know that I read somewhere that you should put your wah before any of your effects (which is what I do) and try to keep the chorus, delays etc in the middle and dist at the end.

I don't use many myself just Wah, Chorus, and Dist. for live playing and use the amp reverb. They are in that order.

Something about the wah acting on the gtr signal first prior to the effects, if reversed it tends to get muddy (too many signals for the wah or something) sort of the same with the dist. Something about the chorus and delays muddying up the distortion if they come after.
