you can shred on anything.... it's just not as easy on a Gretsch White Falcon as it is on a JEM.

With the question being, 'what is the best shred guitar' you're looking at a 'super strat' of some description probably. As it's 'shred', it's going to want to have that attitude as well probably. Chris Impelliteri uses a strat though, and he's lightening quick... If you can play, no-one takes the p*ss out of your guitar, and if you can't but you're packing a pink reverse headstocked jackson then people are gonna laugh at you...

Malmsteen has a scalloped fretboard, and only ever uses E Harmonic Minor - if he couldn't play it fast by now, he should go home.

If you like Fender guitars, shred on Fender guitars. You play best on what you play most.... it's all just familiarity and solid technique...
