Everything is based on the atom.

I've always thought it was something like this. Maybe not an atom in a fat guy but a rock buried on a planet just like Earth and that planet is part of something bigger and so on and so on. Conversly there is whole universe inside a boulder here on Earth. Size is relative.

I too have thought about the thing where this whole universe exists inside an atom etc etc thing.

You could confuse yourself with stuff like this for days.

Edit: Bah, it requires money.

You can download Starry Night from Ares at a remarkable discount. Thats what I did  . You just can't beat their software prices.

Hey yeah, I was thinking about telling ya'll about the meteor shower this weekend, but since the moon will wash out a lot of em when it rises, I didn't bother. I'm still gonna go down to the dark end of the island and gaze from the beach for awhile tonight and prolly tommorrow. This shower usually is one of the better performers. And yeah, I love that NASA archive link...came across that in someone's yahoo id I think a long time ago, and bookmarked ever since.

Oh, and a fairly recent bookmark was this page I'll use for various reasons, but it's to calculate the rise/set times of moon, sun, planets, and a bunch of other stuff I don't use. But sometimes it's good to know these things.

I think the bast argument I have heard that there is intelligent life out there is that it has avoided this warlike rock like the plague !!

Given that if intelligent life were to make contact, we are more likely to chase it up a tree and set fire to it than try to befriend it, as a clever non-hostile alien, what would you do ?

Me, Id be using phrases like...don't call us, we'll call you !

That's an excellent point! I tried to give you rep, but it wouldn't let me.
