tsk tsk tsk

Anyways I wouldn't say that people who listen to rock are more musically open minded then people who listen other genres. I would say musicians in general are more open minded to listening to different genres of music, no matter what genre(s) they prefer.

Welcome to the boards.

+1 (in theory... I have to spread it around)

Great point. As a musician you need to listen to all forms of music. You may not like certain Genres but at least try to listen with an open ear.

I personally do not like to listen to Rap or Country. But I do like Emenem (spell it correctly?), DMX, Willie Nelson, and that new country girl group (can't remember the name just heard some of the stuff recently and really enjoyed it -- NOT THE "DIXIE CHUNKS" :p )

Thanks to having a 15 year old son I usually hear all of the new bands and artists and a cross/mix from all Genres.

IMHO it is good and necessary to be a well rounded listener and have an appreciation for all forms of music. It only helps you out musically in the long run. Anthrax and NWO is a good example of how to cross the barrier of Metal/Rap.
