Tuning a guitar?
I just bought my first acoustic-electric guitar, now i'm having trouble tuning it. I have a korg tuner, I just don't know how to use it. I thought I just pluck the string and then I adjust it until only the green light comes on. If someone could help me out and let me know how to tune it, I would really appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

That's basically the idea. But you have to be in the range of the note. If you're not even in the right range it will be all messed up.
There's 100 ways to skin a rabbit. For me, AT FIRST I use a "note finder" you know the kind you blow into? However, I ONLY blow into E (first, thinnest string) note and then adjust all the other strings by that one. If E is perfectly in tune all the rest will follow. THEN I use the electronic tuner to refine the tone.
But remember, when you adjust E string the neck goes foreward so by the time you get to E (thickest string) then E thinnest string will be off slightly so you have to go back and tune each one until the neck is totally set.
Dunno if that helps at all but that's my 3 cents.

You wanna basically tune each string (starting from the thickes) E-A-D-G-B-E. I'm not sure how your tuner works, but it sounds like when you have the right note, tune it until it gets to the green (I'd read the manual to make sure.) After your done, to make sure its properly tuned, these notes should sound the same:
E-------------------------------------------0------
B-------------------------------0---- -5-----------
G---------------------0---- 4----------------------
D------------0----5--------------------------------
A---0-----5----------------------------------------
E-5------------------------------------------------
...|--|......|--|......|---|......|----|.......|-----|
the same
E-------------------------------------------0------
B-------------------------------0---- -5-----------
G---------------------0---- 4----------------------
D------------0----5--------------------------------
A---0-----5----------------------------------------
E-5------------------------------------------------
...|--|......|--|......|---|......|----|.......|-----|
the same

I really appreciate all the help. You said they should sound the same. So when I play "A" open, it should sound the same as A5? Am I understanding that right?

I geuss it messed up the first time I posted that, but I fixed it. The open A should sound the same as fretting the 5 on the 6th string, and so on untill it changes to 4 when you get to the B string, then it goes back to normal on the high E.
