I'd recommend buying all the parts you need and assembling it and not getting involved in the painting or woodworking, unless you really want to do that.

A good way to start would be with one of those kits you can get from various companies. Here are three popular ones:

Carvin Kit

Torres

And, of course, there's always Warmoth.

You'll be hard pressed to find a kit guitar with a floyd-style trem and you're probably better off just buying a guitar that already has one and building a guitar with a standard Strat-style trem or stop tailpiece unless you have lots of time, money and patience.
