It's all subjective really. There are people with an IQ of 80 who can rebuild an engine; I'd like to know how to do that... there are people with an IQ of 200 that can't hold a conversation for crap... I doubt that I have an IQ that high but I sure like being able to talk to people.

Well, that depends on who you're talking about... Dr. Binet invented the test as a means to identify students who needed specialized instruction to keep up with their fellow classmates. He in fact warned against using the test as a measure of "intelligence."

So true. That there are so many people who are really intelligent and talented who end up utterly disenfranchised and burnt out by the first 18 years of their lives shows that there is something in dire need of change.
