Verb after distortion (verb before your primary source of distortion sounds really dreadful, this is good to remember if you are planning on using a pedal os your main source of distortion).
Compression after things that peak out your dynamics (like a crybaby).
Crybabies before distortion (but can go after, will sound very different ....strange "Quacky" tone !!!).
My fx chain (when I have everything in the chain, which is rare) goes..
Guitar, ABY box, whammy, crybaby, compression sustainer, trem, distortion, chorus, phaser, flanger, delay verb, amp
The Radial ABY box lets me hook a tuner up out of the chain (whilst leaving A (fx to amp) and B (desk, re-amp) channels clear) and lets me send a second identical signal off to a different preamp/DI box / pod for recording / plugging into a desk. When recording it can also be used for re-amping (recording the "dry" guitar part incase you discover you are using too much verb or it doesn't "sit right in the mix" later) or splitting a bass so you can run both a DI and mic the amp !
Very handy bit of kit !!
