I was just told to name the next band I'm in aschleman by a few GT'ers in the chat room... haha. Here's a few of my band name ideas... I don't really care if anyone uses them... And the meaning behind them...

6 Spaces (takes 6 spaces for a pawn to become a king in chess)

Fault Line Now (for the longest time I thought a Thrice song said this in it... when I found out it really didn't say this... I thought it'd be a cool band name...)

Effin Aye ( pronounced "F'n A"... just because it's funny...)

I have a few more... but those are for me.

If at first you don't succeed, you are obviously not Chuck Norris.

Some underground Dublin bands long since gone from the scene:

Synapse
The Septic Snails
Predator
Elastic Band
Freebase Psychosis
The Daft Bleeders
Evilife - nasty death metal name
Fricaseed Lung - for the pot smokers out there :p
Fifth Dominion (not sure if they are still about - good name though)
Nexus  - my old band, we got radio play and did a lot of gigs. Turns out there is a Nexus in most countries in the world... there's even a bloody chain of hair dressers called Nexus (not cool!)...

Personally I think Synapse is a cool name - cool logo opportunity too with the whole nerve synapse firing...

Yeah, not only did they essentially steal their sound... but they also took their name from one of their songs...

Visigoth (for metal) – they were a violent race of people who travelled around destroying villages and towns. They hated all forms of learning and art and would burn all books and deface all art they found.

Athenian (I’ve always thought this would be good for jazz, or even prog rock) – the people who lived in Athens of ancient Greece, they were great thinkers and philosophers. They discovered many of the theories behind modern medicine and facilitated modern music and entertainment and democracy.

Or you could have ‘Psycho Bitches from Uranus’ :D

If you have a lawyer in your band, Res Ipsa and the Tort-Feasors....

or (my personal choice)

Rancid Meat and the Chancres (of course, you could only play love ballads with a name like that...)

I'm kidding, of course. Seriously though, how about:

99 Miles

Due North

Savage Eye

Sagacious

Just a few thoughts.

Great Debate!!!

+1 rep Points!

Her are some I have to play around with.

"One Bad Pig"

"Naughty Girls Wear Plaid" I would love to copyright this since I would love to use this as the title of my first solo album.

"Jimmy B and the Chantelles" this is a current family "joke" but I may use it just to show that I have no shame :D
