Lili
Newbie From Michigan
Greetings from Michigan. I figured since I'll be spending a lot of time here gleaning nuggets of useful information from all you seasoned muscians I might sign-up and introduce myself. I'm Lili, and I just bought my first guitar today (Ibanez Acoustical), after much daydreaming about playing one! I really don't know the first thing about playing the guitar, reading music, or chords or anything so I have a lot to learn and I'll be spending time reading through the posts. In the meantime, if you have any suggestions for me I'd really appreciate it.

Welcome to Gt!
Make sure you practice everyday, and in the first week, your fingertips will hirt from a lack of calluses. Give it a good week and a half of practicing and you'll start to get em. Start off with chords and strumming/falt picking and work around from there.

I'd say "Go Purdue!!" but we sucked last year... So I guess I'll just have to wait to see if we're any better this year......... doubtful.
