Does your mac have the "garageband" application. If so: drop the mp3 file onto a garageband track and slow it down by 50%. It will drop the pitch by an octave but it will still be in the same key as the original track.
You can do the same thing with the iMovie application. If you want the actual tone to remain the same...then I don't know what to tell you.
