So I checked this guitar out at a Guitar Center thinking it would be another Les Paul wannabe. I was wrong. This guitar is extremely good for the price of 400 to 500, depending on finish. I thought that a 25.1 in scale would give a very bland sound because it lacks the snap of Fenders and the throat of Gibsons. But it seriuosly does have the best of both worlds.

Anyways, I really do like this guitar, and just wondering if anyone has any comments about it, and any other guitars in that price range that I may consider. Thanks :)

PRS guitars have a 25" scale length. :)

I have an Ibanez SAS guitar right now and I used to have an S540. The Ibanez S-series guitars are pretty cool and not that common. The S540 was an awesome guitar. I think Ibanez guitars are great value, although they always need a set-up in my experience. I've had to do intonation, action and neck relief adjustments on mine--and the nuts have needed work on them both, which isn't fun.

You'd probably dig this one more if you're more into the Les Paul shape

I've always liked the Ibanez SZ. My guitar teacher has one, and it's just beautiful, surprisingly versatile as well. And hell, if it's good enough for Marty Friedman, it's good enough for me!
