It struck me as being very ironic, at least when I calmed down enough to be philosophical about it, that the SSRI drugs I was taking to treat my depression were destroying my sexuality. Now that's cause for depression! I turned it into motivation to 'get right' on my own.

Have a talk with your doctor. Pronto!

My doctor's initial response was to add Viagra to the list of meds I was supposed to take. I was persistent (and very loud) in my assertion that a less drug-intensive course of treatment was indicated.

He came around to my point of view in due course. It took a lot of work, but I've been flying solo for three years now. Your primary focus should be on doing what it takes to get right with yourself, and those around you. People can spend too long getting used to that crutch instead of learning how to walk on their own. You may not be ready yet to take complete control of your life, but you damn sure do deserve to enjoy the good things your life has to offer.
