Mental Connection

I need really big help, I cant grasp the mental lyrics that I have. I am really into the slow sort of 'Depression' songs like Tool - Pu****, ::Live Version:: just the sort of songs that get out the mental or physical depression, state of mind ect. that we all go through, and everything I seem to write down just seems plain, not like the clever ones that the higher uppers can convert, does anyone have any advise or ahs gone through the same problem?
