I just borrowed a DVD from the library called "Guitar Method in the style of the Beatles"

Every riff is totally wrong. The guy is playing every riff in the wrong position on the guitar and the leads aren't even close....
aaarghh........ it hurts to think that there's beginner guitar players out there learning the wrong way play.

This guy definitely didn't do his homework...

well considering its from a public library.. you get what you pay for.
I borrowed a DVD from my local library too about beginner guitar and all the guy was doing was looking cool and showing off.

Remember it is Guitar method in the 'style' of the beatles. I expect they can't use the actual riffs because of copyright or something.

Nah... these are actual copies of the Beatles songs but this guy is playing them all wrong. jeez man.... I played Beatles cover tunes for years and this guy is so far off it's embarrassing. He can't even do 'Ticket To Ride' properly. and his leads are alternate picked instead of using pull-offs and hammer-ons.
Even 'Can't Buy Me Love' is played on the wrong position on the neck and it's supposed to be a simple C7 chord.

That sucks about the dvd. It's a shame there will be so many beginners who pick that up and end up being miseducated.

I've had the same prob with dvds as well as actual instructors. In the month I've been here I've learned more and progressed more in my playing than I did in a year of paying for actual lessons. I guess it's true that if you want something done right you have to do it yourself
