well you don't need a particular gauge. if you're the one who snapped the strings then i'll go for a 9-10 gauge set. theyre easy to play and don't snap... as easy. but as you play more you'll start to get your own preference of gauge.

if you're using an acoustic, i cant help you on the gauges cause i heard they're different.
