I think either of the PODs are great. If I could get a 2.0 I would.

So you are buying a POD for recording, and a Spider amp for jamming?

I have a Spider amp and find the sound pretty hard to EQ in a band setting. It sounds ok at home, but with other stuff in the mix you can tell the sounds are compressed and digital.

i want it to record with and to use as a front end for my amp, bacause at the moment i am limited to about 3 differant good sounds, its just going to go in the chain because i dont have a effects loop, guitar--pod 2.0--amp

im not sure if i will get a spider later on, i just want something cheap with a effects loop and a bit more power than i have now i think 50w should be more than enough for me but i dont need that yet. its basically a good poweramp section i will need if i get the pod, maybe a vavle amp dunno ill see what i can afford after my birthday

thnx for the advice on the spider tho silver

I wouldnt recommend the POD with an amp ... PODs are meant to model amps, and as soon as you put it through another amp, the modelling is pointless, because the amp colors the sound.

yes, the Pod still sounds great on a clean amp...you dont have to use your amps models, but you can still, and it sounds good (although, as was mentioned above, the sound is coloured by your amps sound, and so wont sound exactly like the amps being modeled).

I'd say do it...you can generally get a Pod2 for around 120pounds, but remember that you will need to spend quite a bit more on a footswitch/floorboard for anything other than recording? as far as I know, the least this will set you back is about 60 quide for the Fbv4...but I'm not sure of that price...tis an estimate.

I have a Floorboard for the POD - they are very expensive, but they rock. The only problem is, I may be getting an XT and it doesnt work like that.
