Well, that's the thing - you're never going to get the same tone that you had with your old RG. But what sort of tone was it? Was it really cutting with a big high-end, warm with emphasis on the mids, or dark and smooth with the bass cranked? I don't think you will be able to avoid the sometimes-torturous process of "tweaking" to find the sound you like.
