So? What big name bands have you guys opened for or played shows with?

Here's my list:

Hootie And The Blowfish (when they were still a local band here in Columbia)
Fugazi
311 (before they got big)
Artimus Pyledriver
Isabelle's Gift

That's about it for me...
Check out my band:

None

But did play at some venues where I could give a long list of bands that I "shared the stage" with.

In grade 6 I had a teacher who is in this awesome band called Knuckleduster. I'm pretty sure they opened for Iron Maiden, but don't quote me on that.

As for me, I've never even played live with my band....yet.

Yes, they did open for Iron Maiden. Quote me on that. As for us, we're going to share the stage with Two Steps Back, the biggest emo/shred band this side of Teulon. :D

Apparently Knuckleduster also played "in support of" Megadeth and Motley Crue, whatever that means. I assume it means "with".

for any other aussies in here, this will make sense, but Cog's first gig was opening for my band at the time...

I've also shared a stage with Jello Biafra, which was pretty cool, except no-one else in my band knew who he was....

my freind has connections with shinedown and i never played with them (not that thats such a big deal) but i got to meet them personally with her. i swear this girl has connections with everything i want.

if anybody watched wrestling (like wwf... I don't) she was a wrestler on there once and she's like 15 now. i don't even know if that's legal. other stuff she has connections with that i can't name here cause its probably illegal or something.

well shinedown's about the only famous band i know. ive met other bands much better but not as famous.

Cool! I really like Cog. By the way, what was your band at the time?

I've never played a gig as a guitarist, but when I was a little kid playing piano, I got to play at the same show as Miriam Hyde twice (Miriam Hyde is a famous-in-Australia-otherwise-fairly-obscure pianist and composer). Which is no big deal, really, considering about fifty other kids had the same honour! :D

I played at a concert as an opening for Brooke Fraser....I guess she's pretty famous now, she wasn't back then.

Let's see, this probably means nothing to you rockers, but I was in a jazz band that opened for Greg Hopkins. I've also jammed a fw times with a part time trumpet player from tower of power and my guitar teacher at the moment taught Bill Frisell and one of the guys from Maroon 5!

My friend won tickets from a Guitar Center raffle. It was on March of 2005. Really cool stuff. We sat very near the stage and got backstage and stuff. His hair is awesome. :D

Moments of Brilliance, potentially, if they come to this CD release we're opening. They're pretty popular in Winnipeg. Famous by no standards.

Rusted Root
Nate Nathanson
Howie Day (when he just came to the states.... he's an asshole)
All those were acoustic shows with two of my buddies...

I played with my buddies jam band one night when they opened for Moe.

LD Miller... he's a harp player from Lafayette and he's going to be a blues legend... mark my words. He's only like 12 or 13 yeras old... Search YouTube.com for him... He's already on a Joe Bonamassa track... and there's a vid of him jamming with Joe in Vegas. As well as him playing harmonica for Taylor Hicks from American Idol... He also played 'Steal My Kisses' by Ben Harper at a club in Vegas for Paris Hilton... crazyness. I play guitar with his older brother all the time...

My old band and I opened up for Trapt at Piere's in Ft. Wayne... They're also on the Vans Warped Tour this year... There name is Pheen. They won't be at every show though.
