Sheepy was really good.
DRF also stood out.. his music sounded like it belonged to the backing track..
After a year of this there will be enough winning songs to make an album.

My favourite was Julian's take, but they were all fantastic.

If at first you don't succeed, you are obviously not Chuck Norris.

I liked 6strngs' take a lot, as well.

Yep, mine almost doesn't even qualify as a lead, except for maybe the middle part.

I thought that all the takes were well done.
I choose Julian's because I liked his phrasing and tone.

yay! I was wondering if I was going to get any votes. now I have one!! yay!

I'll admit my tone was kinda, well, strange, but my current recording method (which I didn't spend more than $5 on) really blows right now. so, maybe I'll get something to make quality recordings soon so they won't all sound that bad.

hey i didn't even spend a cent on my recording method. im too scared to use that method because i can't make a sound or else it will be heard.. thats why im not gonna do these GT Jams.

Ok, I've finally got around to listening to all of 'em. Great stuff all around, but I especially liked Ninja's octave effect and licks, Sheepy's shredding, Silentmusic's tremelo and phrasing, and CW14's soulful wailing. But in the end my choice wasn't too hard actually: drf46. His was even pleasing to my wife, who while she biasly likes my playing, is no guitar afficionado by any means.

On another note, I have noticed some slight personal improvement on soloing just since we started this last month, with respect to soloing with the changes in a progression. I've found it somewhat easier to anticipate these and play in unison. So yeah, cool huh?

Thanks Akira and thanks to everyone who voted. There was some great playing by everyone who entered.

In retrospect, I had no business entering the contest.
Don't misunderstand me. I certainly don't think I'm any better than anyone else on this forum. In fact there are many players on GT (instructors and non-instructors) who play guitar much better than I ever will.
I just don't think that instructors should be entering contests such as these.
That is my personal opinion and it may or may not be shared by the other
members of guitartricks.
It was fun and I look forward to (discretely) jamming along with each new track as it becomes available (unless it's heavy metal which I know nothing about......LOL)
Keep up the great work everyone.

I'm sorry Dr.F but your retrospective thought makes no sense to me. I wish all the instructors would enter. Knowing that some of these guitarist are way way better than me is what pushes me to do that much better. Besides we all learn from eachother in these threads and teaching is what you do eh? Keep it coming!
