Get a hose and saturate all the asbestos - ALL of it. Don't leave a single patch dry. It will then be relatively safe to shovel it out. But don't just leave it out in the open, or it will dry off and some passer-by will just breathe it in, like Pure said.

Oh, and for God's sake wear masks when you're at it. You don't want to risk shortening your lifespan even more! :eek:
