I was just listening to avenged seven fold, and thought that his style strangely sounded like Jason Becker and Marty Friedman. Also that kind of goes for the newer children of bodom guitarist alexi laiho. Anyone else notice this?

I would have to disagree and say that each of their own "styles" are very unique and do not sound very similar ( to me ). However, I do agree that they all tend to have virtuosic (sp?) characteristics in their playing.

You think he sounds like Marty Friedman AND Jason Becker? It's all a matter of opinion, but I always thought that Marty and Jason sounded completely different.

I've never listened to Avenged Sevenfold, but yeah, Alexi Laiho's playing has some similarities with Marty's.

A7X's lead does have a style similar to slash in the song "seize the day"
