well.. before you buy a new one, go play somebody else's and see if it sounds the same. try some out at guitar shops and see if you still have the same problem. because i'm not sure if buying a new guitar's gonna solve your problem.

a picture of your guitar or a recording or something could help.

for all we know the problem could be with your amp. turn the amp off and play and see if when you play smoke on the water, it doesn't sound like the wrong notes, like it does with the amp on.

Hi Ryan, I would get a Tuner and find out what's going on with your guitar, If you still want a new guitar, the tuner will still be very usefull.

A chromatic tuner will display all notes - including sharps and flats.
An ordinary tuner will display the six open strings E.A.D.G.B.E.
A needle display electronic tuner is the best tool I've ever bought - every serious Guitarist should have one........

im gonna try everything on acoustic as well, and get 3 new guitars, but i think it is the way i strum or something, i dunna :(

well, i know that, its just im gonna try them on all different guitars, and i want new ones anyway.. i have the money, and i will just practice i guess?
