Ok I know it's a really cheap stack amp, but that's kind of what i'm looking for (i'm going to pump it up with a line 6 pod xt). What's your general consensus on this amp? review sites have all shown reviews that are quite positive though they say distortion/crunch is crap (but i have the pod for that). Also it is only 60 watts but I don't think I need anything more for garage jamming, and it's the same price as a combo amp but it's a stack (salivates ova stack - i know it's a novelty but it'll mean a lot in my head to have one :P).

Thoughts? It's apparently got a tube pre amp but most tube pre amps i've experienced haven't been that "Amazing!" as they claim.

I'm no pro by any means, but I really like the amp/stack setup. 60 watts should be plenty for a garage band, I can barely turn it on in my guitar room.

I personally wouldn't feel comfortable having a bass amp that close to delicate electronics... I've seen so many clocks, neon lights, televisions, so on so forth... be broken by falling off of cabinets or walls in our small studio that we eventually took most everything out of it except a few lazy boy chairs and a record player unit

yeah, I don't turn that amp up at all, but certainly understand your point and I've heard horror stories from other people as well. I've never had a problem with anything like that in the 5 months that I've had it set up.

I can't even spot the bass amp you're talkin about, but sounds good. I almost feel privelaged to be starting guitar and starting a band in this decade, i mean we can record multi track on computers, buy cheap half stacks that are reasonable, have good quality cheap guitars and don't have a huge ammount of competition from mainstream bands (as IMO the skill level, as in speed and shredding, isn't as high as it was in the 80's which is awesome, because my skill level isn't high at all!).

I can only assume he's talking about the hartke and the bass it creates... not a "bass amp", per se. Perhaps I'm wrong and he thinks there's a true bass amp somewhere in the room.
