He said Himself that a hug part of his sound is from his keely(modified) boss ds-1 distortion pedal. personaly i think his tone comes from his combination of high end pedals botique amplifiers and expensive rack modulation effects. he also uses the original digitech whammy which really allows his creative playing to show.
