I think we've had this conversation before with newbies.
Some guys come here from other newsgroups and automatically assume that guitar groups are all the same. (you know... those guitar groups where everybody acts like jerks and says everything on their minds just to apear to be cool or whatever.... )
This newsgroup is for guys who want to talk seriously about music and guitars as well as other things that are on their minds. The difference being that we don't act like assholes. (occasionally we do but it's all done in context of the conversation and done with taste and the understanding that it's just a 'joke'."
Think of this place like an upscale club where everybody is welcome to talk about just about any subject. Just don't trash the place or act like an ass and you'll get along great here.

Be mature but at the same time, feel free to have fun and make dumb jokes when the occasion deserves it. Just don't overdo it or act like a dick all the time or you'll get banned and have your IP blocked.

Most of all .... READ THE FORUM RULES AND FOLLOW THEM!!!!!
