Mic input help please

Can anyone please tell me: if a lead from a line out or guitar processor in to the Mic input of a PC- should be stereo or mono - or does it matter - been having problems.

i think the mic input will be mono if you are using a pretty standard sound card
humans aren't imortal

if you're using a pretty standard mic too. if you were using some fancy stereo mic (for god knows wat reason) then it would be stereo.
