The ZW-44 is a great overdrive pedal, but I think it might not be quite smooth enough for a strictly blues pedal. It could definitely work though, and it might suit your needs and tone tastes perfect. Also, take a look at the Digitech Bad Monkey, Ibanez Tubescreamer, Boss OD-3, Boss SD-1, Voodoo Lab Sparkle Drive, and pretty much any other overdrive you can find to play through.
