Okay first of, all hey people! just got my account here today!!! :D Okay now for the question....... look at the tab:

wtf do the x's mean?! any help would be appriciated :) . thanks in advance.

x's mean don't play that string, mute it with one of your fingers.
I am a constant evolving music machine. Oh Man, I just forgot what I was playing. Oh well, on to the next song. :rolleyes:

Oh, so is that how guitarists who use picks play octave double-stops, by just muting the note in between the upper and lower root? I play fingerstyle, see, and I play octaves by plucking the two notes simultaneously with my thumb and index finger; and I've always wondered how guitarists who played with picks managed to play octaves... I think I see now...

But I suppose that must seem patently obvious to the rest of you! :o

Thanks bigbuda!!! that helps alot because i was looking at some tab and i had no idea what was going on lol...thanks agian dude!!!

Yep, fret the bottom note with yer index and the high octave with yer ringer finger and yer good to go. Mute the x string with the bottom of yer index.
