Here is something that I have gotten alot of mileage on and it gets you playing alot of songs.

These are standard "oldies". Yu have probrably heard these in movies, TV shows, your Grandma :D

Chords: C, Am, F, G (repeat over and over again until some yells at you from another room to "STOP").

Blue Moon -- Play 2 strums per chord

Breaking up is hard to do -- 2 strms per chrd

Duke Of Earl -- 4 strms per chrd

Earth Angel -- 2 strms per chrd (If Micheal J Fox can play this you can too :p )

Runaround Sue -- 8 strms per chrd

Why do fools fall in love? (their fools)-- 2 strms per chrd

As you may notice that alot of these songs are from the 50's. You got any Elvis laying around? Try the same chords to figure out some of his stuff.

**Elvis sang alot of "blues" songs so try this basic stripped down chord progression**

E A B Over and over again. Or Em Am Bm.

How many Elvis songs can you play after 1 week?

Good Luck!
