OOOO ya. Most definately. I appreciate him, but his sound is built around his flat singing and sloppy playing. He's defiantly overrated as a guitarist and singer in my books.

Yeah, he's sloppy, but I don't care - he's an awesome songwriter, and for all its sloppiness, his music still sounds great to me.

Absolutely, but that's part of who he is. I remember a long time ago a quote by Neil where he considered his band the 3rd greatest garage band in the world. The Stones were #1 (it was a long time ago;)), and he figured someone else had to be #2.

i really appreciate the responses to my question. i myself love neil young(plays the same les paul i got !) but i always wondered if people had the same question lingering in the back of they're head when they see neil jam. i once also heard someone tell me jimmy page is sloppy. i agreed, thats jimmy's style. peace friends ! john

Yeah man, some of the most acclaimed guitarists ever are sloppy, but it doesn't make them lesser players - usually, it's a part of what makes their style distinctive and enjoyable. Jimi Hendrix, for example!

Oh cool, it's Neil Young! For one terrible, fleeting second, I thought it was Ted Nugent... *shudder*
